Beverly Simmons, Minister of Music

Minister of Music

About Me

Beverly comes to us after serving 4 different Episcopal churches in New
York state for the past 36 years. Raised in Maryland and Germany (for
her teenage years) she developed a love of music as well as travel. She
has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of
Oregon and a Master’s degree in Sacred Music from Union Theological
Seminary in New York City. The latter included the study of Scripture
and Liturgy as well as all aspects of church music. In addition to
playing the organ and harpsichord she served as organist at a Reform
Jewish Synagogue for 10 years, gave piano lessons, played for
weddings at Vassar College Chapel and sang in several prestigious
community choirs. One of them sang twice at Carnegie Hall. She has
been active in both the Association of Anglican Musicians and the
American Guild of Organists. Beverly moved to New Mexico in 2015
and enjoys traveling in the southwest.
